To get started, go to any list, grid, table, or item details block. Click on actions, then item button, and choose Open comments.

That's it. Comments are now automatically linked to each record.

Now remember, comments always belong to a specific item. Whether it's a project, a task, or anything else, the conversation stays right where it's relevant.

And you've got options for how comments show up. Add them as a block on a detail page, or use the side panel, which opens from a list item with a button.

Note from Softr: This is perfect for project management or a team intranet where quick collaboration on specific tasks is essential.

No matter where you display them, it's the same thread, just shown in different places. Your users can also add attachments, use rich text formatting, and emojis to keep conversations detailed.

You can customize the look and feel of your comments, change the sort order, pick a style, and personalize the messages used in your comments functionality.

You're also in full control of your comments permissions. Choose exactly who can see or post comments, from all users to just specific user groups like admins or supervisors.

Plus inside the comments settings, you'll get a global view of every block where comments are enabled, making it easy to manage everything in one place.

Coming soon, email notifications and user mentions will be available within the comments functionality. We can't wait to see what you'll build with Softr.
