What's new in Softr
Check out new features, improvements, and community events!
Time intervals on charts
You can now group your records when using date or timestamp fields – by day, month, quarter, or year.
New data insights are waiting for you!

New place to manage user groups
You can now add, edit, or delete user groups directly in Users > User groups.
As for user redirection settings (page after sign-in/out), you can now find them under Pages > Page rules. Oh, and we've also added an option for you to configure what happens when users try to reach an Unauthorized page.

Airtable OAuth + Manage data sources at workspace level
We have moved data source management to the workspace level!
This means that within the same workspace, any collaborator can:
- Add a data source to one app, and use it in other apps without re-connecting.
- Remove / re-authenticate a data source (except guest collaborators), and the change will take effect across all apps.
In addition, Softr has officially introduced OAuth as the new Airtable authentication method.
🚨 As Airtable will fully retire API keys by Jan 2024, we highly recommend that you replace existing API keys with OAuth ASAP!
There are a few more important notes about both updates. Please check out this blog post for more details

eSignature field
Simplify your signature workflows with this new input field! It lets your users draw or type their signatures, which then get automatically saved as images in the connected data source. Available on Professional plan and above.

Customize emails
We've made it easy for you to personalize the transactional emails that are sent to your app users.
You can now change the subject line, the body of the email and leverage the power of variables to create custom emails that are relevant to your users.

New preview mode
Our new "Preview mode" feature makes it easy to test your app's usability from different user perspectives, including specific visibility and action permissions.
This can help you test new changes and get feedback from collaborators before you publish.

Data freshness on charts
Charts now display information about the time of the last refresh. For preview and live modes, data refreshes every 15 minutes. For edit mode, sampled data refreshes near real-time.
P.S. App builders can manually refresh the data in the preview mode to conveniently test their apps.

Persist page settings after URL change
Previously, when you changed the URL path of a page, you had to update every setting that linked to that page (e.g., open page action) - a frustrating task indeed. The good news is that we have fixed this quirk! Now, all page settings will continue to work even after you change a page’s URL path.

Option to hide empty list / details block when record is not found
When adding an additional list or details block to a details page, you now have the option to hide the entire block if no record is found, instead of showing an empty state. I love this update, and I hope you’ll love it as much.

Airtable personal access token support
PATs are now available for you to connect your Airtable account. Upon changing API Key to PAT, no change will be needed on the block level. They will work as is. OAuth support is next in line to be supported.

Two-way user sync
Previously, user syncing between your Softr app and data source happened one-way only, meaning that users added from your source didn’t appear in Softr. With this new release, your users will sync both ways — whether they’re added from source or Softr.
Two-way user sync and existing apps Two-way user sync is available on all new apps.
Before enabling two-way user sync on your existing apps, we suggest you to:
1. Learn more about how it works in this article 2. Try it out on a blank app, or your existing app copy, with user data mimicking your production data, and see if it works the way you expect.

Softr <> Airtable field compatibility
No more guessing! From now on, when mapping Softr fields, only the compatible Airtable fields will be suggested to choose from. Image to image, date to date, etc.
