How I Built a Secure Investor Portal with Softr & Airtable | Client Portal Demo

This is an investor portal I built for an investment firm that was previously running everything—twenty investors, every policy, and every payment—out of spreadsheets. We are loading the app as an investor. Once an investor logs in, they are able to see their entire position in seconds, including total policy value, active policies, and exactly what is owed.

Each investor sees only their own policies and nobody else's. This provides real, permission-based access rather than a shared spreadsheet, allowing them to view their personal policy portfolio directly. There is full transparency on every holding, including the carrier, LLC, face value, and exact ownership share.

Investors can see the beneficiary structure, current estimated value, how much they own, and the specific amount they have invested across the entire policy. Every premium is tracked automatically to show what is paid, what is owed, and upcoming due dates, eliminating the need to chase payments.

Note from Softr: Softr integrates with more than 17 external sources, and Softr Databases is the native way to hold data inside Softr for client portals with better performance.

When a payment is due, investors can pay right inside the portal through an integrated Stripe connection. They can choose to pay the entire balance at once or make separate payments one at a time. This eliminates manual accounting, chasing funds, and handling cash.

The portal also includes a document vault where users can access all contracts, statements, and tax forms in one place instead of searching through emails. Every relevant file is uploaded directly here, including policy contracts, subscription agreements, premium schedules, and 1099 tax forms.

Before this portal existed, quarter-end reviews took the founders seven to eight days of late nights, whereas now it takes just a glance. They can easily view all the data and contact the investor or send notifications directly from the platform.
