Web-based installation wizard that guides field technicians through the setup and registration of AED monitoring cameras. Built on Softr with secure API integration, the mobile-responsive app walks installers through device validation, location assignment, physical mounting, and real-time verification, ensuring every AED Sentinel camera is properly configured before leaving the site.

The Challenge
Readiness Systems needed to replace their existing Power Pages wizard with a more flexible, maintainable solution. Field technicians installing AED Sentinel monitoring cameras required a mobile-friendly tool that could validate devices in real-time, guide them through physical installation steps, and confirm successful activation, all while working on-site with varying connectivity.
The Solution
I designed and built a 12-step installation wizard using a three-tier architecture: Softr for the frontend (balancing native blocks for client editability with custom code for complex functionality), Cloudflare Workers as a secure middleware proxy, and integration with Readiness Systems' existing REST API.
Key features include:
• Real-time device validation against the central database
• Dynamic location dropdowns populated from subscriber data
• Step-by-step physical installation guidance with visual aids
• Camera rotation configuration for optimal positioning
• Continuous status polling until device activation is confirmed
• Session management with magic link authentication
The Result
A production-ready wizard that Readiness Systems can clone and customize for each new subscriber without developer involvement. The wildcard-configured middleware automatically accepts new instances, and comprehensive documentation enables the client team to manage ongoing deployments independently.
