In today's video, when I think back to the progress that I've seen Softr go through over the last five plus years, I'm stunned at how quickly they've gotten to where they are today. We are going to be looking at the new AI Co-Builder and the new vibe-coding element.
Now, I'm going to jump on in and start a new app. When I say create a new app, I'm going to say generate with AI. We're going to write a prompt, and the AI does the rest. This prompt is going to take it to the next level.
I'm grabbing a stopwatch because I want to let you know really how fast this comes together. I've already created my prompt by going through some rounds with AI in my own chats first. Tell it what you're building first; this is the best first step to vibe-coding.
Here is my prompt: I'm working on a portal. I want a client success portal, and I want there to be two different roles. I want the admin side for internal folks, and then I want the client side.

I have named out the data structure. In this case, I'm telling it users, projects, tasks, and invoices. Then I specify user views: clients can see this, while admins can see that, using a modern enterprise aesthetic.
Now Softr in the background is doing all the magic. It's going to ask me some clarifying questions, like how clients access the portal. I love this because the AI is not just assuming things; the models are getting better and better.
It asks what statuses we want for our tasks and invoices. Then we have authentication settings and navigation layouts. I'm going to go with a bottom bar on mobile and a sidebar on desktop, then choose a monochrome theme.
Technically, it took me about 90 seconds to go through the initial setup questions. This just saved us a ton of time because it prevents Softr from building something we didn't actually want. Asking these questions upfront is a key benefit.
It is building this on the fly, and these data elements are being added into Softr. I am building one entire application, including the data layer, the interface layer, and even workflow components directly in Softr.

Softr has already finished the data layer and is now onto the interfaces. It is listing out step by step what it's going through. I'm going to pause the timer and come back when it is fully finished.
We are back, and the entire app was built in under five minutes, including the backend and the frontend. This version of the application was just fully built by AI in an insane amount of time. Let's dive in.
Right now, I am an admin user. I've got my projects and my incomplete tasks right here on my homepage. I can add a project via a form with start dates, end dates, and status fields.
I can also talk to Ask AI right inside the app, which is another feature that Softr rolled out. I can look at my different tasks or projects, and I can click into them to edit status or priority.

From the client side, they log in and get their own dashboard overview. They can search projects and click in. Currently, it might need some extra filters to ensure clients only see their specific data.
The AI gets us 90% of the way there, and then we can make those tweaks. This is where Softr really shines because you can spin up the app quickly, and you already know where to go to make changes.
Because this was built inside of Softr, the Softr Databases layer exists right here. This makes your apps quicker to load and navigate. The users and user groups were all built correctly as well.
On the workflow side, we can use AI to build Softr Workflows. If you want an automation, like a survey filling process when a user logs in, you can just prompt it into the system.
