Together in Dubrovnik: Softr offsite 2025

Working remotely is great until you suddenly realize: you’ve been working with your favorite teammate(s) over dozens of Google Meet calls for months without ever sharing a midday snack with them. Kind of sad, right?
Well, that’s one of the big reasons we do offsites at Softr. Once a year, we all get together to celebrate what we’ve built, discuss what’s next, our values, and the product enthusiasm we share.
We also share many delicious midday snacks, real conversations about all things no-code, AI - of course, life, and much more.
So, here’s another offsite story from this year’s annual gathering in the lovely Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Day 1: Arrival and reconnecting
After months of Slack messages and virtual calls, nothing beats that first in-person hello. Day 1 was all about settling in and reconnecting.

Of course, the offsite wouldn’t truly kick in without a Mafia night! (You’re not a true Softrian if you haven’t at least watched the game once!)

The first day at Dubrovnik was also about soaking up the sun, having first dips in the mesmerizing Adriatic sea, and enjoying the stunning views of the city.
Day 2: Product talks & mountain trails
We started the day with big-picture conversations from our founders on company strategy and vision, and the leadership team across Tech, Product, and Marketing.

We’ve taken a moment to reflect on our journey - from Softr’s early weekend builds to where we stand today, driven by the same mission: empowering non-technical teams to build the tools they need with ease. This was also a powerful opportunity to bring the entire team along, aligning around our shared vision for what’s ahead.
We’ve accomplished a lot, but this is only the beginning. Our ambitions are bigger than ever, as we set our sights on becoming the go-to AI-powered platform for every company looking to build powerful business apps.

The next step on the agenda was for fun adventures: buggy rides on rocky trails for some adrenaline rush and sunset views, and a sky bike ride opening up to a breathtaking view of Dubrovnik city harbor.

Day 3: Idea sprints followed by sea adventures
This was our build-and-play day. Each team (product, CS, development, marketing) had one challenge: come up with an idea to improve how we work daily. The ideas could revolve around a new workflow, product tweak, or process automation.
Then we had to turn that idea into a proof of concept and a plan to ship it in under three hours.

It was all about moving fast, working together, and sharing quick wins that could also make it into our day-to-day.
Then it was time for a candid “How we got here” Founder AMA full of interesting personal stories and deeper product insights.
Once the timers were off and ideas were locked in, we headed to our boat adventures.

Day 4: “Ship-it” sessions and discovering the Dubrovnik Old Town
On our final day, we kicked things off with our “Ship-it” sessions, where teams come together to build and launch something tangible by the end of the session. The goal wasn’t just to brainstorm or prototype - it was to ship something real, such as a process automation, product feature, or new workflows, that could be useful to the team/company in our day-to-day work.
It was amazing to see how much could come together in just a few focused hours.
And while we were enjoying the Dubrovnik sun, we were also shipping real-time behind the scenes with “10 days of Softr”, sharing key product features & quality-of-life updates such as Airtable import, redesigned Kanban block, Make integration for Softr Databases, new Comments Admin Panel, tooltips for icon labels, and so much more!
With a lot to reflect on and hints of end-of-trip sadness setting in, we headed out for one last walk through the city.

- Walked alongside the historic city walls, with sea views that still didn’t feel real
- Wandered the narrow stone streets, picking up snacks and souvenirs along the way
- Gathered for one final team dinner in the city, full of toasts and stories

Not just a trip but part of how we work
When you’re shipping every week (or every day, as is often the case at Softr), it’s easy to keep your head down and just keep building. There’s always another feature to ship, another fix to make, another problem to solve.
Amid all the launches and meetings, it’s easy to forget how valuable it is to simply be in the same room with your team.
That’s exactly what this offsite gave us. A few days to pause, reflect, share ideas, and connect without the constant pressure of “what’s next.”
At Softr, we’ve learned that the best ideas grow out of trust, energy, and shared purpose. That’s why these offsites aren’t just a break; they’re an essential part of how we build.
See you next year!
