Grow Local Plants is an innovative online platform designed to bridge the gap between plant nurseries, landscapers, and gardeners. Built using Softr, Make, and N8N automations, the system manages complex user roles, state-county-based plant filtering, and onboarding workflows for members and businesses alike.
Each business profile dynamically adapts to its type — Nursery, Landscaper, or both — displaying relevant data such as plant inventories and service areas. Members can explore plants native to their region, save favorites, and discover local suppliers.
An AI assistant was embedded to provide conversational plant guidance and contextual recommendations using integrated OpenAI APIs. The system also features printable plant labels linked via QR codes, connecting physical plants to their online profiles. The combination of smart automation, custom scripts, and iterative design refinements resulted in a robust, scalable platform that supports community building and commerce in the native plant ecosystem.
