Health & fitness community app
MVP and app development using Airtable and Softr for a community-based, gamified health and fitness startup.
From the partner
Ravi and Sadie have been leading informal accountability groups for health and fitness with their group of friends and acquaintances for a few years. The feedback they received has been consistently positive, and the group expanded over time through referrals. To date, they have been using a mix of spreadsheets to run the program.
They now want to formalize their community and provide members with a customized app experience tailored to their needs. Since they are still in the early days, they do not want to spend a lot of money and time on a fully custom platform. Rather, they want a way to continue validating their project while enhancing the customer experience and maintaining control over the data and ease of use. This is an incremental step toward growth and establishment.
I helped Ravi and Sadie identify the most appropriate tools for this stage of their journey. We defined the business and app logic, and started the development of the platform using Airtable and Softr. Airtable is the backend of the app where all the data is stored. Softr is the frontend tool to display the data to the end users, easily manage user permissions, and provide members with web and mobile (PWA) apps.
By the end of our project and just in time for the new season, the app was ready. Ravi and Sadie could onboard users and get immediate feedback from the community members. Our collaboration is ongoing and we continue improving the app as the community grows and evolves, laying the foundations for the next stage of business.
